Paper has declined, but devices, samples, personal belongings, marketing material and deliveries have not. Office storage changed ownership and dimensions rather than disappearing.
Audit objects, not linear metres
Record size, frequency and owner. Shared tools belong close to their work; secure items need controlled access; personal storage must support flexible seating. Those choices affect the order and care visible to a visiting candidate.
Do not let the tea point absorb supplies by default. Its queues and cabinet openings already need the space defined in the tea-point circulation test.
Size the inside first
Generic cupboards waste volume when shelves do not fit real objects. Use a partial prototype and the questions in the joinery mock-up guide.
Plan replenishment and replacement
Map deliveries and waste to the back-of-house route. Specify removable internals through replacement-first detailing so storage can change with the organisation.
