A commercial finish should be judged on its hundredth cleaning and first repair, not only on the approval sample.
Locate the damage
Map trolley turns, luggage edges, chair backs, wet cleaning and constant hand contact. Hotel lobbies expose finishes at several speeds; use the lobby movement map to identify those zones. Fitting rooms add repeated contact and cosmetics, as described in the fitting-room decision space.
Test recovery
Ask how a scratch, stain or broken module is repaired. A hard surface that cannot be patched may age worse than a softer replaceable one. Detail removable parts through design for replacement.
Keep the evidence
Approved cleaning methods, spare batches and supplier records belong in the usable handover manual. Procurement should reserve spares before production closes, following the procurement schedule as a design document.
